And while it did take some waiting, Rockstar Games finally confirmed that, yes, Grand Theft Auto 5 is coming to PC, as well as next-gen consoles. However, when Rockstar made the announcement they did not reveal a release date.

This is obviously not the first time we’ve heard a November release date for GTA 5 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and it likely won’t be the last. Earlier this year, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed that Rockstar had a 2014 next-gen release in the works, and we now know that title is GTA 5. However, when Zelnick said 2014 he meant the fiscal year, which extends all the way until March of next year. In other words, there’s no guarantee GTA 5 will hit PC before the end of this year, even if it is very likely.

As far as why Rockstar Games is playing coy with the release date, most are inclined to believe that’s simply the developer’s M.O. However, we might be inclined to believe Rockstar is timing the release of these current-gen ports with the release of heist missions for GTA Online. There has to be something to convince gamers to upgrade beyond improved graphical fidelity.

For now, though, we play the waiting game — waiting for heists, waiting to hear more about single player DLC, and waiting for PC, PS4, and Xbox One release dates.

When do you think Grand Theft Auto 5 might release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One? Why do you think Rockstar is waiting so long to announce a release date?
